When your birthday is the day before your daughter When your birthday is the day before your daughter’s birthday, you may end up with a cake using leftover icing and candles from her cake. 🤣🤣 Liv’s is the pretty one with all the swirls, stars, and flowers. Alex’s is the other one with the orange top. A more “official” shout out to wish Alex and Liv happy birthday will follow later (editing pictures 🤣), but here are the cakes from yesterday! Liv asked for a cake with lots of colors so I think I delivered that! We still have to plan her party, but a low key celebration at home with just us was perfect for yesterday! We grilled burgers, made cakes, played outside, and put together a little furniture!

We decided on a whim yesterday to escape with Mamaw Vickie and go tulip picking at @hubertfamilyfarms. We caught the end of the season, but there were still so many beautiful tulips left. The kids had the best time plucking their own stems from the ground, and seeing newborn baby bunnies was for sure a favorite highlight! We will definitely be back!
When I originally designed the kitchen, I had plan When I originally designed the kitchen, I had planned for a farmhouse sink. I changed my mind at the last minute and went with this granite composite under mount sink instead. Absolutely no regrets. It is beautiful, tied into the gray veining in the quartz, and withstands a beating.

The last thing I did before walking out of the hou The last thing I did before walking out of the house for vacation was to make sure our bed was made. I knew it would be late in the afternoon when we got home, so I wanted to makes sure we could crawl into bed and not have to worry about cleaning it off or fixing sheets. We loved our beach house, but goodness I missed my bed. My back missed my bed and my pillows. 🤣😅 Getting older is no joke! 😆 #loveyourhomeeveryday #homeisaretreat #mahranch

Why

Livable design?

I believe that if we can't LIVE in our home, then it doesn't matter how beautiful it is. We shouldn't have to sacrifice function and memory making just to have a space be aesthetically appealing.
